The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving hosted its 29th Annual National Summit & Training Institute on Friday, October 21. Today's caregiver must traverse many pathways to seek solutions and proven effective supports to thrive in today's caregiving journey. The one day conference explored caregiver needs who are caring for others with diverse chronic illnesses and disability across the lifespan.
Our audience of family and professional caregivers, service providers, and volunteers heard from experts on topics that are on every caregiver's mind: Communicating Assertively and Respectfully; Dealing Effectively with Depression and Grief; Preventing Fraud and Financial Exploitation; Understanding Prescription Medications; Financial Planning for Family Caregivers; and Legal Considerations for Family Caregivers.
The summit kicked off with a Networking Reception on Thursday, October 20 at the historic Windsor Hotel where heavy hors d'oeuvres and cocktails were served. After Friday's conference, the day concluded with a formal dinner and a national award recognizing "Leadership in Caregiving" as well as our Georgia Caregivers of the Year.
