Chelsea Collins, BFA

Interim Director of Communications

Chelsea Collins is the Interim Director of Communications at the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving (RCI) at Georgia Southwestern State University. In this role, she is responsible for all communications at RCI, increasing awareness of our caregiver support programs, utilizing social media to reach the target audience, disseminating monthly e-newsletters and quarterly newsletters, assisting with national summits, and updating website content.

Chelsea is a 2009 graduate of Valdosta State University having received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Speech Communication with an emphasis on Public Relations. Before joining RCI, Chelsea worked as the marketing coordinator for an electrical company where she coordinated all advertising efforts for their departments in Georgia, Florida, and Texas; represented the company at various trade shows and career fairs; planned numerous business events; maintained social media accounts and company websites; designed all promotional materials; and delivered customer service training and presentations to technicians.

Chelsea is active in her community as a member of the Junior Service League of Americus, an AWANA instructor at Central Baptist Church, and a volunteer with local organizations such as the Sumter Humane Society, Hands of Hope Pregnancy & Resources Center, and Friendship Baptist's Homeless Shelter.

Chelsea has lived in Americus her whole life (not including her stint in Valdosta) and truly loves her small hometown. She is married to Logan, Accounting Supervisor at Perry Brothers Oil Co., and they are the parents to a daughter, Kynslee, and a son, Keller. Chelsea enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, exercising, and taking beach vacations.
