ABOUT RCI

Georgia Caregiver of the Year Awards

To honor their work and to focus public attention on the contributions of caregivers throughout the state, the Rosalynn Carter Institute on Caregiving in cooperation with the Georgia CARE-NETS initiated the Georgia Caregiver of the Year Awards in 2007.

The Georgia CARE-NETs selected their regional winners and submitted these individuals as nominees for the state award. The 2008 Georgia Caregivers of the Year were introduced at RCI's Awards Banquet on October 23. The 2008 Georgia Caregivers of the Year are:

2008 Family Caregiver of the Year: Allison Tripp, Macon

2008 Para-professional Caregiver of the Year: Jan Treadwell, LaGrange

2008 Volunteer Caregiver of the Year: Ken Jasnau, Eatonton

2007 Awards Winners
Four caregivers were named Georgia Caregivers of the Year October 25, 2007 at the RCI's 20th Anniversary Awards Banquet. The selection committee had a difficult time choosing among the outstanding nominees. In fact, in the category of Paraprofessional Caregiver, there was a tie - so two outstanding caregivers were honored in that category. Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter presented each winner with a gilded rose and a check for $1,000.
