RCI Partners Win 2010 National Family Caregiving Awards
On July 20, 2010, the National Alliance for Caregiving and MetLife Foundation honored exemplary programs that support and education of family caregivers. Two of RCI’s current partners in translational efforts of evidence-based programs for caregivers were winners.
Fox GERI: Geriatric Education & Research Institute of Cherry Hill, NJ, won for Translation of ESP/Skills2Care, a collaborative project that involves an evidence-based program for caregivers of people with dementia that provides occupational therapists in a sustainable reimbursement environment.
New York University Langone School of Medicine of New York, NY, for its NYU Caregiver Intervention Program, an evidence-based intervention to improve the well-being of caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s disease by mobilizing the support of naturally existing family networks, improving caregiving skills and providing the opportunity for ongoing counseling and support.
