Relative Caregiver Program
Are you caring for your grandchild, niece, nephew, or other related child? Do you live in Sumter, Schley, Dooly, or Macon County? We can help!
Did you know that over 10% of all children being raised in the State of Georgia are being raised by relatives? Raising children these days is tough! We want to support you in keeping your family together and avoiding the formal foster care system.
We offer free services that can help you take care of yourself while you care for your relative children. Services include:
- In-home parent/child educational sessions on topics such as effective discipline, behavior management, and family life skills
- Medical/health assessments
- Resource and referral services
- Individual and family counseling
- Center-based monthly support groups for adults, teens, and children
- Homework assistance sessions for teens and children
- Family outings/group activities
